Here are the reasons you shouldn't subscribe to this magazine: 1) Semi monthly, no matter what it says on the masthead. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. Of course, that might be the post office, but I think they get blamed for a lot of human sin, don't you? 2) Boring. Plain boring. Baseball is an exciting and complex game, full of tension and draman. This magazine is not. How the people that produce this mediocrity stay awake at their keyboards I can't imagine. 3) Rude to subscribers -- I can't tell you how often I've read a curt and demeaning reply to a writer in their "The Fans Speak Out," feature. Why people keep coming back for this, I do not understand. All of this is unfortunate because, for all the wonderfulness of baseball, and all the truly outstanding writing that has been and is being done about the game, this is the only national publication I can find -- and it simply stinks up the place. The only possible reason I can imagine for subscribing to this is if you're a spouse of a baseball fanatic and have had enough. Give him or her a year of this rag and they'll hate baseball forever, and you'll get the teevee back to watch reality shows or other drivel.
